Burlington County Announces Start of Resurfacing Work on Irick Road and Bridgeboro Road
Work is scheduled to begin next week on repaving portions of both Irick Road in Westampton and Bridgeboro Road in Moorestown.
Pavement milling and overlay work on both roads, also known as County Route 637 and County Route 613 respectively, should start on Monday, August 10.
Approximately a 0.6-mile stretch of Irick Road will be repaved from Woodlane Road (Route 630) to the new roundabout near the Westampton/Burlington Township border. The work is expected to take about two weeks to complete.
Southbound traffic on Irick will be maintained during the work. Vehicles traveling in the northbound direction will be detoured using Woodlane Road (Route 630), Springside-Rancocas Road (Route 635), Sunset Road (Route 634) and Burlington-Mount Holly Road (Route 541). Motorists using the roads will likely experience delays and are advised to seek alternative routes.
The Bridgeboro Road work involves repaving an approximately 0.7-mile stretch between Riverton Road (Route 603) and Stanwick Road. The work is also expected to take about two weeks.
During the project, one lane of traffic will be maintained. Traffic in the opposite direction will be detoured using Tom Brown Road (Route 614) and Riverton Road (Route 603). Motorists should expect delays or seek alternative routes.
The work on both roads is being done by Arawak Paving Company Inc., of Hammonton, and is part of Burlington County’s annual road resurfacing program. A total of 34.3 miles of roadway in 14 Burlington County municipalities is expected to be resurfaced as part of Arawak’s repaving contract.
“Burlington County is the largest county in New Jersey and has over 500 miles of County roads, 411 County bridges and 700 plus culverts. Maintaining this infrastructure is one of the important services our government performs,” said Burlington County Commissioner Tom Pullion, the liaison to the Department of Public Works. “Our repaving program ensures Burlington County has safe, quality roads, and we are pleased to see that work is continuing.”
